HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED! sorry we didn't call! We remembered, though, and we love you for being one year older today!!!!! Hope it was a great one!
Bryan finally made it into town about 12:30 last night! I was so so so excited to see him! We have had a great time today being together in the city. We went to Rockefeller Plaza, the Chrysler Building, Times Square, Union Square, and the express-way to watch fireworks! The Empire State Building was lit up with red, white and blue, and the Rockefeller Plaza was lined completely with American Flags!
We are staying in the city while Bryan is in town at a really mod boutique hotel called the Dylan.
We also went to the East River Fireworks Extravaganza! According to the news, "millions of people tuned out to watch!" I believe it! There were so many people! They shut down the express-way so that everyone could walk out to line the bridge. Did I mention it was raining? It was. By the time the fireworks show was over, we were pretty wet and an umbrella was of no use. Most everyone was kind enough not to use them during the show so we all got rained on. We stopped to get some doughnuts because we were starved since it took us an hour and a half to 'find' a place to eat dinner. (We actually never found a good place (most were closed because of the holiday), we ended up with Jamba Juice for a meal.) Anyway, after we got our doughnuts in a paper bag, they were the only thing that needed an umbrella's protection because we were already soaked.
Here's how sophisticated we are!

You two covered a lot of ground! What a cool hotel! I'm so glad you had a good time and a chance to be together before Bryan leaves.
