First Church of Lancaster

Bryan and I took a drive out to Lancaster today to visit the First Church of Lancaster designed by the architect Charles Bulfinch. It was built in 1816. We arrived after the normal Sunday service to the church being closed for the afternoon. We met the minister who told us how much he loved the building and offered us a tour. We saw everything! He even climbed with us up the clock tower to see the old hand-cranked mechanism that still works.

See those two black pipes? The entire sanctuary is heated by wood burning stoves at the back. Those pipes were very hot and the room was actually very comfortable.

Dinner with Friends

First, let me say Happiest of Birthdays to my BFF, Lexie! I so wish I could have been there to celebrate and love you yesterday! I hope you had a wonderful day filled with fun and laughter!

Ian & Erin hosted dinner at their house last night. Our friends David & Carolyn (who were two of our first friends when we moved to Boston) are in town visiting from California and it was so good to see them and spend time with friends over delicious food!

Roasted Garlic Soup & Wildflower, Radicchio, Endive Salad

Ian's Harissa was so delicious!
