Things, they are a changin
We've decided to have a HUGE yard sale before we move. Way before we move. In three weeks. (Which is three months before we move) (You can come buy stuff if you want. We're not the only cool couple who's contributing to the sale!) We will probably be getting rid of at least half of our stuff! Which half will it be?!
In other news:
When we got married, we only registered for everyday dishes... no china. So over the last two years I've been collecting china from thrift stores. I only buy solid white pieces but they can be in any pattern and so far each piece is different from the next. I think it's really pretty all together. To spruce up our 'fine china' so that we can use it every day, I've also decided to add in colorful bowls! Here's how it's going so far:

Nanny Nanny Boo Boo
I'm going to be a nanny in Boston! I just accepted an offer today! I'm so excited about it.
A designer I talked to in Boston said people were taking pay cuts just to keep their jobs and most other firms were on their 3rd or 4th round of lay-offs. I wasn't interested in that. I am, however, interested in playing with kids outside all day long and going to museums and finger painting!
The more I think about it the more I love the idea of what's in store for me next year. I absolutely love design and designing and I have no intention of leaving it forever by any means...
All you moms who read my blog, please leave me some words of wisdom! I'll be caring for three children under the age of 3! Yowza!
And for the record, this is Nanny McPhee... not Nanny Ashley. Nanny Ashley does not have a uni-brow, among other notable off-putting facial things.

A little snip snip
I'm getting a hair cut today.
It's going to be drastic.
Do not freak out.
There will be before & after shots later on today!
I wonder if I have enough length for locks of love? How much do you have to have?

Fortune Teller, Please Tell Me My Future
We take turns with everyone in our small group bringing dinner every week. Last night we were served beef & broccoli with rice and fortune cookies!
Once we were all finished eating, we went around the entire room and everyone read their fortunes out loud. Most of them were like "Something you've been waiting for will arrive in the mail" "You have a heart of gold" "This year a year of luck for you" etc.
This was mine:
And everybody laughed and I blushed and someone commented "at least a married woman got that"... etc etc.
And then Bryan reads his out loud:
And then everybody really laughed and then I really blushed and then Bryan got a high five.Tuesday, April 14, 2009

The Saboteur
The Saboteur:
This pressure cooker tried to ruin Easter! Please notice the beans stuck to the wall behind it. Apparently it erupted, spewing beans to the highest heights and farthest reaches of the very kitchen from whence it came. There were beans EVERYWHERE (except our plates)!
Even on the ceiling! Easter was beanless, but still very good!In other news, Lexie & Parker's wedding shower was a lot of fun on Saturday afternoon! Lots of people came and gave them great gifts!
And this is the dress I made on Saturday. The proportions are a little off so if i make something like this again, I'll lengthen the bodice and move the skirt down a few inches... doing is the best way of learning! I still wore it on Saturday, though.

It's Cupcake Time, It's Cupcake Time
Oh, won't you have some cupcakes of mine?
Today is going to be a great day.
It involves no work.
Cupcakes.
Possibly making a dress.
What more could I ask for?
"Photos!" you say?
Oh, there will be photos. The day has only just begun...
