After our rest yesterday afternoon we went down to the Sonoma Farmer's Market and walked around the square there until our dinner reservation at The Girl and The Fig.
The square is so cute. Many of the buildings are original buildings from the original Sonoma Mission.

The market looked like such a good excuse to picnic with friends on a weekly basis! There were people everywhere with tables, picnic blankets, bottles of wine, grills, chairs and lots of fresh veggies, breads, cheeses and olives. And the market provides music and entertainment so it was really perfect! |
I was having that low-blood-sugar-feeling after we got there so we also shared a corn dog at the farmer's market. One of our tour guides yesterday told us to try one and I do love corn dogs...
The Girl and The Fig was delicious! Pretty much everything we ate was really nice and fresh and perfectly cooked.

Charcuterie Plate: They make their own fig compote and fig cakes which I loved! I'm such a fan of fresh fig and only recently realized it! That middle goat cheese with honey was probably my favorite thing on that plate. |

Watermelon, Heirloom Tomatoes, Feta, Lemon-Olive Oil... enough said... make this for yourself soon!!! |
|
Soft Shelled Crab and some kind of pork-belly salad (the crab was ehh, but the salad was amazing!) |
We also had some delicious flounder with spinach and potatoes which we devoured before we snapped a photo! So Yummy! I feel like the meals just keep getting better and better!
